Nuclear Fusion Pressure Vessel
August 20, 2026
CPE recently completed a batch of six high pressure resonator vessels for a ConocoPhillips project in Alaska, USA.
The vessels were designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME VIII Division 1 and certified with the ASME U Stamp. All vessels were supplied with National Board registration, ensuring compliance with the project and regulatory requirements.
The spherical vessel design was selected to efficiently withstand the demanding operating pressures associated with the application. Each vessel incorporated RTJ weld neck flanges and bespoke nozzle configurations tailored to the project requirements.
Given the critical nature of the service and operating conditions, an extensive inspection and testing programme was implemented throughout manufacture. To verify the highest levels of production quality, all vessels underwent:
Following successful inspection and testing, the vessels were finished with a pickle and passivation treatment to provide a clean, corrosion-resistant surface.
This project demonstrates CPE’s capability in delivering high integrity pressure vessels for demanding international applications, combining ASME-certified manufacture, rigorous quality control and comprehensive project support.
