CPE have advanced into automated welding process for butt welds and fillet welds on pipes, vessels and other components.

The technology is aimed at batch production, for production runs of 30-1000 units.

Using a new automated welding lathe and integrated programmable welding plants, CPE have spent six months developing the technology and calibrating the process in order to achieve the level of quality required to produce x-ray quality welds.

The new technology can achieve full penetration welds in stainless and carbon steel pipes from 25mm diameter up to 950mm diameter. It is also possible to weld two seams simultaneously, which makes the process even more efficient.

Initial results have been excellent and CPE have now produced several batches of vessels using this new technology.

This technology is suited to a wide range of applications, including pressure vessels, pipe welds, flange welds, automotive components, gears and pinions, welding of float spinnings, rollers, driveshafts and many other products.
